Zareh Zargaryan, who has been a member of Ararat basketball for over 19 years has been selected to represent Armenia National Basketball team, during FIBA European Championship for small countries. Zareh will go to a training camp held in Armenia end of May. European championship games will be held in Moldova June 26 – July 3rd. Eight European countries are participating at this tournament.
Armenia will compete in group B with Wales, Andorra and Moldova. First and second teams of this tournament will move to Division B European Championship in the future.
Zareh Zargaryan became a member of Ararat basketball at age 8. He has won many tournaments throughout the years. He has won 4 Navasartian 1-A division championships. Zareh has also coached our younger Ararat basketball teams. He has been selected and participated in 3 Pan Armenian Games, representing the City of Glendale and winning 1 silver & 2 bronze medals. Zareh played his college basketball at Cal State Dominguez with single-game highs of 32 points, 12 rebounds & 10 assists during the 2 year period.
